Unable to see register for debt/loan accounts

I have seen a few similar questions about this and I have a work around but would hope that there is a better solution in the works.
I like to play with different pay off scenarios (using reminders) to determine best strategy for my needs. Not being able to see how my payments are affecting payoffs over time on accounts that are categorized as "Personal Liability" is frustrating.
What I did was make sure to create a "Linked Asset" account on the Liability accounts. Now when I set up a payment (or reminder) in the account I am paying from I set the category to the targeted Asset account.
I'd be interested in hearing how others are getting around this.

I suggest you switch from using an online activated loan to a manual loan: https://community.quicken.com/discussion/7164936/faq-how-do-i-convert-a-loan-account-that-automatically-downloads-transactions-to-a-manual-entry-sc

I tried that for a while. I am awaiting changes to the accounts I am testing this with to see what happens and if the extra steps are worth it but I appreciate your input.0
