quicken will not open any qdf since updating.

dot net runtime error on another discussion that plainly shows qw.exe having an issue. if the problem is my file - Quicken should know this & display such.
in short Quicken support can not help me
- if i have to start over - there is no point in using quicken.

another ticket - 8237069; not sure why CS didn't use the previous ticket # however after many more attempts of reinstall, reboot, patch. Quicken still refuses to open my qdf. upon entering password - i receive bugsplat. of course tried a couple of older backups etc. have done repairs/validations that appear indicate all is fine. will be talking with another CS on Monday - to attempt to open. so far about 8 hours spent on this to no avail.0

This discussion was created from comments split from: I can not use my quicken program, Bugsplat error, Your program has encounter a problem and closes..0

I'm beginning to think it might be time for you to reinstall .Net Framework or, if this doesn't work, refresh/reinstall Windows altogether.

.net framework fix is worth trying.0
-
.net repair didn't change anything0

Have you done a QCleanUI uninstall or just a Windows uninstall?Quicken user since version 2 for DOS, now using QWin Premier Subscription on Win10 Pro.1

Thanks Rocket! YES have done numerous iterations of manually removing, windows removal - patches before after + reboots. quicken doesn't like any of my qdfs or backups - though it will go through repair & validation etc. have gone back couple of months in fact. Makes no sense. After having last customer service rep indicate i'd just have to start over - have decided I will no longer use quicken. really leaves me in a bind being unable to pull the 2020 data i was counting on0
-
Rocket -& yes - have done the qcleanui several times - as your post asked.0

Hello @dpshupe
Thank you for reaching out on the community and telling us about your issue. I do apologize for the issue you're having. That is odd you're not able to import any QDF files in. If you wouldn't mind could we try in a test file to see if we're able to import some of those? I know you've tried with support but I haven't seen if that's been tried just yet. Another question that I'm wondering is have you tried moving your file onto a different computer if you have one available and testing to see if that worked as well? I know these aren't solutions but they help isolate the issue a bit more to try tracking down more information about the netruntime error you keep getting. You can find the test file step on the third step.

Once you get a chance let us know if you're able to find anything.
Thanks,
Quicken Francisco

HI - thanks for your interest. Ivy did have me upload a current qdf (not sanitized) ticket # 8237069.
as part of troubleshooting i did load quicken onto another computer to no avail.
quicken will let me 'start over' I can add an account (bogus one that i indicated was not connected ). I can close & reopen.
quicken fails everytime upon entry of my password on any of my old qdfs & qdf backups.0 -

Words of Wisdom Folks - don't just rely on your backups to be able to save you. run incremental reports & export data just in case. I have now lost 2020 & have made the decision to no longer rely on quicken. All but one of the support team were extremely helpful & this is not a reflection on them.0
