Unable to open my 2017 version

I get a message saying that I have to download 2004 and open the data in that and then reload 2017 and open it again in that. Unable to do that because I have been told by support that 2017 has been removed. They said that a recent update caused my version to crash. Anyone else have this problem and what is the fix?

Just to clarify - I'm guessing that Quicken starts,
but it can't open your data file - and produces an error message - Is this correct ?
Any time Quicken mentions that it can't open your data file,
and you need to install a previous version -
it usually implies that the data file has become corrupted.
Do you have a Quicken backup file you can Restore ?
