Home Inventory Management

Does anyone know if the Quicken team will be replacing or updating the legacy Home Inventory Management feature? It would be helpful if inventory items could be added directly from checking or credit card purchases.

    Hello @Snowshovel

Thank you for taking the time to visit the Community to ask your question, although I apologize that you have not received a response.

Quicken Home Inventory (and Emergency Records Organizer) is a "legacy" product that is no longer supported.  Quicken Home Inventory has been made available as part of the Quicken install package as a courtesy for users who have data in those programs, but, unfortunately, there will be no new Development work or bug fixes for these legacy programs.

We apologize for any frustration or inconvenience and encourage you to review the possible alternative solution provided by @jl747 in the discussion here.

    Thank you,

    -Quicken Tyka

It's attached but you cannot edit the home inventory file. Even if you no longer support it at least provide the ability to edit the file.

I think it was a BIG mistake for Quicken to have stopped developing this and making it work as your belongings ARE an investment and part of your financial tracking and management which is why it was developed and part of Quicken by Intuit to begin with. Otherwise - why have insurance? I wish they would see that and bring this back especially for those of us with a subscription we pay top dollar to keep up every year. Charging that much money you would think they would make the room to do that.

If you are unable to access your Home Inventory see this Article.
If for some reason you are still having a problem accessing your inventory file (data) there is a software that can read the Quicken Inventory file.
It is called Attic Manager. See it here.
I have been using it as a backup to my Quicken Home Inventory (since about 2014).
Note: Once it imports your file you will have to go through and fix any problems.
