Why is my data frequently corrupted?

About once a week, my American Express register becomes corrupt: duplicate entries, unable to reconcile, random entry with date of 0/0/1900. Validate and repair finds and corrects most problems. This is annoying.

    We will need a bit more information to be able to assist. Please take a moment to review the information here and post back with the year and version of Quicken, you are currently running.

    How long have you been experiencing this trouble? Did you experience any changes that you can recall prior to this issue occurring?

    Can you also please verify the file location? Storing an active data file on a cloud or network drive may cause the behavior you have described.

    Quicken - Premier, Version R31.20, Build 27.1.31.20

    This problem has been recurring for several months. There were no changes preceding it, other than perhaps a routine program update. The data file resides locally, although I occasionally backup and restore from a cloud drive.

    Are you using sync to Mobile/Web?

    Yes, but only to view info on the mobile. It's too buggy to trust.

    Well in my opinion it the “syncing” that can’t be trusted.  I recommend you try for awhile with the sync off.

    Well, if it is too buggy to trust - I have seen too many issues related to Sync - and have totally disabled it -

    If you have any Accounts that use EWC as the downloading method, that's also a "synch" process.  When two of my Accounts flipped from DC to EWC I experienced data corruption.  Luckily these two Accounts are seldom used so I deactivated those two Accounts.

    The connection is direct. But I'll try deactivating mobile sync and see if the problem recurs.
