My bank upgraded over the weekend and changed websites... quicken is not seeing this

Does my bank need to get with Quicken to resolve this? I've deactivated the online services and tried to connect. I also setup a new file to test this, but it is connecting to the old site. When i click on the blue link in quicken for my banks name, it takes me to the old website. I also have a different password for the new website than I do for the old one, and it is taking my old password, which tells me it has not updated. Anyone been through this? How fast will this be fixed to point to the right bank?

    Hello @jasonpbyu

    Thank you for reaching out on the community and telling us about your issue. I do apologize for the issue you're having. When the website link needs to be updated due to any bank changes it is up to the bank to fix the address so that we're able to regain connectivity. I would recommend contacting your bank so that you're able to ask if they're aware of the issue. I'll also leave a link down below with more information.

    Thanks,

    Hi @jasonpbyu,

    Which bank is this and which method have you been using to connect in the past?  Did the bank provide you with any instructions on how to connect to their new website and if so did that discuss Quicken?

    Let us knw and we'll do our best to help you.

    Peoples Bank of Lubbock TX . Website is https://peoplesbanktexas.com/ but Quicken is using the old link below rather than the one it redirects to now. They Were express web but were switching to Direct Connect. I'll fill out the form above and report to the bank as well. https://cm.netteller.com/login2008/Authentication/Views/Login.aspx?fi=peoplesbanktexas&bn=345dbaae4ffaaab9&burlid=b73c12eefbd567e9

    yeah that was the website they used until today. now the website redirects to https://cibng.ibanking-services.com/eAM/Credential/Index?orgId=67U_111316887&FIFID=111316887&brand=67U_111316887&appId=CeB&FIORG=67U

    Where are you able to see where it points in the config file? I finally got ahold of someone at the bank, they told me the update should happen overnight, so i'd like to be able to verify tomorrow that it is fixed. Guy I spoke to last month about the upcoming upgrade said they would be on Direct Connect.

    Does a change like this require a new install file to come out? Or will the system just automatically know at some point that they're on the new site?

    There is a Quicken file that is auto downloaded when you use One Step Update -
    BUT - it is also a contractual matter between the bank and Quicken, as the bank has to supply the info and setup their own servers to support the DC, and also, they have to purchase that DC protocol support from Quicken - THEN the file gets updated and transmitted to users during One Step Update.
    Lastly - you will need to edit your own Quicken setup for that Quicken Account to reflect a different online download protocol.

    I disconnected the account from online services. At some point I am hoping it updates so I can reconnect it and it will pull from the right site. Really don't want to have to setup the account as a new account. Aside from putting in my username and password, what else will I need to do for the different download? Remap it to the right bank so it knows where to pull? I've used quicken for ages (15+ years) but this is the first time I've gone through a bank upgrade involving a different website.

    Just trying to know what will be visible to me tomorrow to know if they've made the change. They said that it will be fixed tonight.

    just open with Notepad - with WordWrap OFF - and browse to your bank -
    As a comparison - here is what Chase looks like - with all 3 download protocols

    Found it. Does that file update every time I do a download? I'll try connecting to my test setup tomorrow and see if it updates properly.

    Quicken checks for changes to this file at startup about every 4 days (and depending on how you hit it, it could be 1 or up to 4 days before it picks it up).
    This is in: C:\ProgramData\Quicken\Config\Quicken.ini
    Periodic_update_period=4
    Periodic_last_update=03/26/2021

    so mine was 3/27/2021 period = 4 however my text file was dated today. so who knows. good info though, so even if the bank gets things fixed with Quicken tonight, then i may have to wait? or is there a way to force the update?

    I suppose there might be another way they are pushing out the updates to that file.
    I do know at times they have mentioned forcing the update through the Online Center.  So it certainly doesn't seem to be on ever download.

    It this kind of details they never talk about, and we have to mostly guess at.

    Ok well here's an update... the FIR file still shows the old bank site, however when I try now, I get an email from the new system that there was an unsuccessful login to my account. So... it is recognizing the new site somehow, but not taking my password. I'll see what the bank says tomorrow. Frustrating.

    Chatting with support is like talking to a brick wall. I think i know more than this guy. The OFX log is showing the wrong bank website, it shows the below info which is wrong. I installed this today on work computer so it would pull the new fidir and it still has wrong one. but bank insists they've updated. GRRR
