One Step Update and Chase

When doing the One Step Update, I am being prompted for two-step authentication information. Specifically, I am asked to select an email address or phone number to which the system will send a code. I make my selection and click OK. I am prompted again 3 more times... I never get an alert via email or text. The download seems to proceed anyway, even without the authentication code. So right now this doesn't seem to add any security and only adds a level of annoyance. Can you remove this functionality if it is not needed? If it is needed, clearly it's not working as designed.
