why is my checking account balance in the account list one value, but when I open my checking account it is another value. The value listed in the list is about $450 different and not my bank, current, or ending balance

The account bar, to the side of your main Q screen, can show either current or ending/future balances. Which do you have it set for?Click the Gear Icon that's in the title line immediately above the list of accounts to check this.I just re-read and saw that it's not the ending balance. SO, have you tried validating your Q data file?FILE, File Operations, Validate and Repair... being sure to check both Validate File and "Rebuild investing lots' before you click OKQ user since DOS version 5
