How do I change the financial institution on an account?

I am unable to change the financial institution on accounts (checking & savings). The current bank name is greyed out and cannot be changed. There is no associated download (so I cannot "deactivate" anything). However, when I try to reconcile it does ask me to download, but no download information happens (because it does not have downloads set up!). There is obviously an error somewhere that makes the account think it is associated with an automatic download. How can I get this "loop" fixed????

Also, it will not let me delete the account because it says I am connected to my financial institution. But there is no online connection.

    Hello @ks426

Thank you for taking the time to visit the Community to post your issue, although I apologize that you haven't received a response.

I would recommend running the Validate & Repair tool on the data file from the File menu > File Operations > Validate & Repair option.

In the Validate File window that opens, click the top box to "validate file" and then click OK.

When the validation completes, a data log will open in Notepad, please let us know if any errors or issues are found/repaired, and when ready close and re-open Quicken.

Please let us know what you find!

Thanks for the suggestion. The Validation found some minor errors, but it didn't fix the problem. But I was finally able to find a solution! I had to go to my bank website, log in and do a manual download of each account. Then I had to link each individual download (QFX file) to each account. Then I went into the account details, deactivated the online connection and then I was able to change the Financial Institution. As an FYI - the bank I was having issues with was US Bank.
