How do to fix the cost of US security in CAD exchange rate at time of purchase?

I need to know the cost of a security purchased in US dollar account in terms of Canadian dollars using the exchange rate at the time of purchase for the purpose of calculating the average cost for capital gains tax purposes. For this purpose, I need to fix the exchange rate at the time of purchase. How can I do this?

    At this time, there is no report or automated process to determine this information within Quicken. I would recommend locating the currency rate for the time of the transaction from a reputable source to calculate this amount.
