Quicken for Windows hangs and completely unusable after latest update

During the last several days after the latest update, Quicken for Windows has been completely unusable. It hangs the moment I attempt to navigate anything other than the menu bar. Portions of the UI will disappear and then reappear, the fonts go all wonky and more. If I can do anything at all it is painfully slow, for example taking minutes just to switch between accounts. I have already restarted Quicken, restarted Windows and validated my data file (no errors after 2nd run). What next?
