Reconciling problems

I use the online reconciliation. When I click on the reconciliation option, after a few seconds It says there are no transactions that are uncleared. That's not true. Any thoughts?

If you haven't already, you may want to review: FAQ: How does Quicken determine which transactions qualify for a reconcile?0

@kenw100
Are your reconciling to the online balance?
What is the connection type of the account Express Web Connect or Direct Connect (you can see that at the top left of the account)Signature:

I agree that the article is how Quicken should work. However, it's not working that way. When I go to reconcile, it says there is nothing to reconcile, but there is!0

The only currently known workarounds are either switch to reconciling to "paper statements" where you can enter the ending date, or go to each account and use Update Now from there which people have reported it does pick up the correct date and balance.Signature:

That explanation makes perfect sense to me. I updated that capital one account individually by selecting the option under the gear icon in the upper right. However, when I went to reconcile the account, it still said there weren't any transactions to reconcile. Any other thoughts?0

Well Capital One is the only financial institution that I know of that used Express Web Connect + (Plus) and so it might a bit different than the reset and the Update Now doesn't work to bring the account Online Balance/date up to date.
About the only other thing you can do is stop reconciling to the online balance use the "reconcile to paper statement". It doesn't have to a statement date just the you know the balance for. To turn off reconcile to Online Balance go into the Account Details -> Online Services tab, and deselect Reconcile using online balance.Signature:

I'm going to try your suggestion, but I was wondering what happened because it has been working fine for years. All of a sudden, this error has popped up. There is one other approach I was thinking of taking. Since it has been working fine for years in the past, it seemed like I can create a new account and it might just sidestep the problem. The one thing I would need to do is change the transaction download to go to this new account instead of the old one. I'm not sure how to do that though? Any advice?0

I went to reconcile my checking account as I do every month. After entering the correct information, Quicken now lists dozens of previous income and expenses that were cleared years ago. Even if I ignore them and only select the current checks and income, the account will not reconcile as it shows thousands of dollars still. This has not been a problem until suddenly this month0
