to hear that you are experiencing issues with your one step update. I'm wondering here if we might be able to single out what exactly could be causing the issue. To start off here do you by chance have mobile and web enabled? If so the first place we can check by trying to disable it. You can do so by going across the top to edit > preferences > mobile & web > Sync off.
