QW2017 is no longer supported, so it will not update itself to its latest patch release automatically.
You must do that manually by downloading and running the 20.5 Mondo Patch from
    http://www.quicknperlwiz.com/quicken-2017-patches.html

Quicken user since version 2 for DOS, now using QWin Premier Subscription on Win10 Pro.

What error exactly are you getting?

It's not a message. I click the icon and it's starts to open (logo pops on the screen) and that's it. The logo is only there for 5 seconds.

If the Quicken process (qw.exe) is running, hover the mouse over the Quicken task bar icon until the preview window appears and the right-click on the preview windows and select Restore or Maximize.

Otherwise, if you press the Ctrl key when you open Quicken, the program should start without attempting to load the Quicken file.  If this succeeds, I suggest you restore a good Quicken file backup.  If you haven't already, you may want to review: https://www.quicken.com/support/advanced-data-file-troubleshooting-correct-problems-quicken-windows
