Error - We Are Unable To Contact The Quicken Server. August 2021

I just installed Quicken Deluxe 2018, which comes with a two year sub. I believe the sub begins when you install and log in for the first time, which for me is today.

I installed from a DVD I bought directly from Amazon. The security seal was in place.

I excluded the app, inc. the update, Billminder, and the other various apps from Windows defender.

I used to run Quicken Home And Business 2015 on this laptop, But I uninstalled it months ago.

    The first thing I would try is uninstalling that version and installing the latest from here:
    https://www.quicken.com/support/how-do-i-download-quicken-quickencom-after-i-buy-it

    If that doesn't fix the problem then most likely the problem is that it considers the license invalid (maybe too much time has past) and then I think the only people that can resolve this would be Quicken Support:

    BTW Quicken Inc dropped 2 year subscriptions about a year ago.

    Contacted support. Short version: Copies of Quicken expire - like milk! Even though I paid, and never opened the box, I have to pay again if I want to use Quicken!

    I'm glad it wasn't a car!
