I can't see how this is on the USAA side. It was not doing this until a recent Quicken update.

Actually it is on the USAA side.  They are sending almost all the transactions as XFER when they should be CREDIT or DEBIT.  This has been going on since the beginning of the year when they switched over to their new security model.

You can see this in the OFX log (Help -> Log Files -> OFX Log).
    Look for "RECV from https://df3cx-services.1fsapi.com/casm/usaa/access.ofx"
And then at the <TRNTYPE> field in each transaction.

Note the if you have a reminder that is being matched it will override this and you won't see in Quicken.
Interesting enough they get it right for the interest payments with a <TRNTYPE> of INT.

It's still an issue. I've opened a support ticket at USAA. Don't expect much action though.
  • Just an update. I still have the issue. I spoke with USAA Tech Support and they asked me to reset my USAA account in Quicken. I've done this before with no improvement. They are still looking into it.
