BUG? Deleting reminders

I had a recurring reminder for the 8th of every month, that now Dec 8 will be the last one. So I went to Jan 8, and selected "Delete this and all future reminders". It deleted the Dec 8 one too.

The easier thing to do would have been to just edit the reminder and put in an end date.

When you delete a reminder, regardless of how far in the future, it will delete ALL the occurrences.  Even dates previous.  As you found out.

Well if that is true they should certainly change the wording from "....this and all FUTURE reminders"...

Dec. 8 is in the future.

THIS (date, which is Dec 8) and all FUTURE occurrences (post Dec 8). If it meant what you are saying, they only would have had to say, "Delete all future occurrences". In that case, saying "THIS" would be redundant. Or how about just making it more clear what the intent is, as it is misleading at best.

The word you want them to use and operate by is SUBSEQUENT.

Please remember that there is only one instance of a scheduled reminder in existence in your Quicken data file. It's the one that shows the next Due Date (Dec in your example).
Any future instances shown in, e.g., the Projected Balances report are hypothetical instances and do not physically exist in the data file ... and therefore cannot be manipulated individually.
If a change needs to be made to a future instance (Jan, Feb, etc.) beyond the next one due (Dec) you need to wait until it's Jan, Feb, etc. before you can apply the change to "THIS and all future transactions".
And, as was previously suggested, if you know that a reminder needs to be terminated at a certain future date, you can always set a "Ends on xx/xx/xxxx" date. That's what it's there for.
