My investment shows two times the actual amount in my account. How do I fix this?

I recently set up my investments in Quicken Home and Business and initially, it had a number of placeholders. I went in and added the purchase value of the stocks, ETFs, and Mutual funds. Now, the value in Quicken is twice the value in my actual accounts! How do I fix this?

Did you add the missing transactions before deleting the Placeholders? If so, you may see "Balancing Cash Adjustment" transactions just before each Buy that you added. Quicken does this because it thinks you don't want the new transactions to change your cash balance.

To correct this, you must delete the Placeholders and then delete the cash balance adjustments.
