Quicken adds password to data file

Over the past five days everytime I have attempted to open Quicken it prompts me for the data file password. Th only problem is that I did not set one up so I have no idea what that password might be. If I try to use "forgot password" that option does not work either. Quicken support tells me I must restore an old backup and redo all my work. Any suggestions?

Restore from a backup file.  Quicken asking for a data file password when one was never put on the file is an indication that the data file is corrupted.

I do not think I ever created a data file password, but I can not open my back-up file without one. The "forgot password" does not link. Have there been any suggestions about this? Not finding any. Thanks.
