File Locking (uchg flag)

Dear Readers,
I have fallen in love with Apple's little Lock feature they display when you click a file's name in window title bar. This sets a "uchg" flag on the file so that you cannot accidentally change it without a popup warning to first unlock it. I use this on important files so my random finger glitches along trackpad do not unknowingly change important content.
So this is a Request For Enhancement. Perhaps others will vote it up, up, up.
