I would love a basic calculator in the tool bar like in the Windows version. It is amazingly useful.

@hbravo I have only ever used the Mac, so I don't know what's available in the Windows version — but I wanted to make sure you're aware there is a mini-calculator in Quicken Mac. When you're in any amount field, type a value and then an operator, and you'll see a little "adding machine tape" pop up to show the math you're entering.

For example, to add 6% sales tax to $12.50, type "12.5*1.06="

You can string together multiple operations just as you would on a basic form-function calculator (e.g. add 5 values, multiple to add sales tax, and divide by two to split the bill.)

You can also trigger the calculator by clicking on the little adding machine icon in the amount field.

Is this the type of thing you were looking for?

Thank you. I have seen the calculator in the amount field. In Windows there is a separate basic (+, -, x, /) calculator in the tool bar also, which I have found quite useful.

Another feature I like in Windows is the ability to flag a transaction for future attention. I used this when I am entering transactions for the upcoming month including a transfer from check to savings. Since my bank requires that a transfer from one account to another be sent on the actual day, I flag those transfers so I don't forget to send it on the proper day. Am I correct that there is no transaction flag feature in Q for Mac?

    Thank you!

@hbravo You can flag transactions for review... sort of. ;) Control-click on a transaction and select "Set Status of Selected Transaction to", and on the subsequent menu, select "Not Reviewed". (Or you can use the command key Option-Shift-R.) If this doesn't work for your needs because it blends with downloaded transactions you haven't reviewed, another alternative would be to make the Action column visible, and add a text flag of your choosing (e.g. "To Pay" or "Flag" or whatever you want) in that field.

I was trying your suggestions and really like the "action" option. That will work for me in a couple of ways. Thank you!!
