CC-501 error code at PNC bank

I have been receiving a CC-501error code at PNC Bank for three weeks on two accounts after resetting the accounts. All other accounts are still working OK. I've used quicken since 1996 and have done this before and never had this problem. Along with the error code, it says that it can't connect to the Quicken server so don't call the bank because they can't fix the problem.

Intuit continues to have difficulty maintaining the Express Web Connect connection method for Quicken.  If you are not willing to accept the unreliability of this connection method, I suggest you use the Direct Connect or the Web Connect connection method instead.  If you haven't already, you may want to review: https://www.quicken.com/support/how-quicken-connects-your-bank

PNC Bank - Direct Connect supports the Direct Connect connection method for free but you do need to request access from PNC:  sign in to the PNC's Online Banking web site and follow the instruction they provide on their Quicken Enrollment form.  (A path to the form is to select the My Accounts tab and More at the bottom of Account Services.  The form is toward the bottom of the Manage Accounts region.)

After PNC provides the Direct Connect User ID and password, I suggest you deactivate the Online Services of all of the accounts associated with PNC Bank and clear the financial name on the General tab.  After you have you deactivated the Online Services of all of the accounts associated with PNC Bank and clear the financial name on the General tab, select Tools > Add Account...Advanced Options, and choose Direct Connect, and select Next.  After you have authenticated, Quicken should provide the list of the accounts it obtained and allow you to link them to the appropriate existing registers.

Note:  When we change connection methods, Quicken may initially import duplicate transactions which we may delete.

I have had the exact same problem for several weeks. The 'Community Alert' (https://community.quicken.com/discussion/7911811/new-4-12-22-pnc-bank-ol-297-a-cc-501-101#latest) suggests this is new this week. I have been messing around with this problem for at least several weeks, constantly having to reset the account, deactivate and set up online services from scratch to get any downloads. Something happened back in December. When I was trying to set up using 'PNC Bank -Direct Connect' rather than 'PNC Virtual Wallet', I would only get transactions through 12/21/2021 or something like that. I notice that my 'Last download' timestamp under my PNC bank account names is no longer there, even for accounts that have been able to download transactions.

The lack of transparency about an issue affecting hundreds of thousands of customers is not acceptable. Quicken/Intuit should be overcommunicating on what happened, why, and what is being done about it.

This Quicken 501 error with PNC Bank is keeping me from balancing the account. I can't do it manually. It's deactivated in quicken. When I try to balance manually I'm told the account has never been balanced and do I want to download transactions. There's no way to enter the opening statement balance. There seems to be a lot of new features, are the new features causing the problems. I'm having trouble with bills too.

On 4/28/2022 three virtual wallet accounts ( Express Web connect) reconnected. Express Web Connect can't seem to find one additional account!! I'm concerned that Trying to access these accounts by any other method, such as direct connect could really mess up my accounts. If that was a viable option it seems PNC would suggest it! Edit, Tried to Rest one of my accounts that downloaded on the 28th. Quicken Removed it from Express Web Connect, Thanks

So far the problem appears to have been fixed. There is still one small remaining problem with PNC credit cards. This happens after the charges on the card download and you try to add them to each account. When you click on the item, instead of showing the single item, it highlights two of them and you have to re-click it to add them individually because it won't show a window to download when two of them are highlighted. This only happens on the credit card accounts. The checking and savings accounts work just fine now. This only exists on the credit card accounts.
