There have been times where I get duplicate files in my registry for one reason or another and it would be nice to have a search function to look for them.

This would be nice but I'm not sure it's needed enough to warrant a new Quicken feature.

My typical scenario is that either I or Mrs. Squirrel enter a credit card transaction into the wrong credit card register. When the correct transaction downloads later, the incorrect entry is a duplicate which should be deleted after any memo or split info is copied to the correct transaction.

I have several ways of tracking these down.

• Do a global search on the exact amount.
• Run a report on uncleared transactions.

Those usually do the trick.

Finding duplicates is probably nontrivial given the types of errors we humans can make. Quicken would have to look for transactions with (nearly) identical payees and (nearly) identical dates and (nearly) identical amounts.
