Print file name on reports

Is there currently a way to print the file name on reports OTHER THAN as the report title? I have looked several times & cannot find one. I have 2 files - one personal & one business. I use pretty much the same reports during the year & especially at tax time. Similar categories, etc. It is nearly impossible to remember to change the report title to include the file name EVERY TIME! It would be VERY helpful to have the file name as a header or footer like Word/Excel reports.

I'd vote for an optional page footer, printing either the QDF file name or the complete path in the bottom margin of the printed page.

I think this is a good idea, but there is a simple workaround for the situation you describe.

Since you have two files, the reports in each file are independent of each other. You could save the report in each file with its own title, matching the file name or descriptive in some other way.

If it is actually all one Quicken file, then rather than using one report and modifying the report title back and forth, you could save two reports, one for personal and one for business, each with its own title.

I voted for it simply because of the frequency that I start reports from a new report rather than a saved report.  Seems to be pretty basic info that would be helpful in many cases, independent of a "simple workaround".

@Jim_Harman Your workaround suggestion is what I'm trying to make not necessary. As I stated in my post, this is the only current option. I do use it, but it is a very tedious & error prone method. A file name header option would solve the problem.

I can't believe only 5 people would find this helpful…

I voted for this Idea, but the point of my earlier post was that you do not have to change the report title each time you run the report.

All you have to do is customize and save the report once in each file

OK, thanks for clarifying. That is different from your initial description of the issue where you said

I use pretty much the same reports during the year & especially at tax time.

If you are starting with a built-in report each time in each file, you would still need to remember to select the option to include the file name. If you were to save a set of report templates in each file that include the file name in the title and customize them as needed each time, you would eliminate a step and a chance for error.

@Jim Harmon Apparently, I left of "in each file" from my initial question. Reports are constantly changing, but then I have to change it in each file already. Remembering to change/add/update the report name also, is asking too much. I usually forget! And I hate the waste of reprinting reports just because I forgot to update the title. If it was a selectable option in the settings, (as it should already be) then that part wouldn't be an issue.
