This started this morning. I cannot update anything with one step update. As a result, Quicken R45.21 locks up & I must use "Task manager" to force it to close.

Having the same issue today.5

Same. Disappointing.2

Same problem 1/2/23. One Step Update appears to be downloading transactions but just hangs there. After 5 to 8 minutes I give up. I must use task manager to close Quicken.2

Not working for me either. Tried to update twice, program just chugs along consuming memory and processor cycles but doing nothing productive. I eventually gave up, and will wait for some official announcement before trying again0

I will add myself to this list of update failures starting 1/2/23. I also tried updating individual accounts. I received a 501 error on PNC, but the others just locked.1

Same issue. Sigh.... Great start for the new year, Quicken!1

Me too- find this very annoying.0

Add me to the list. Long term user - never, ever, fully satisfied. Ugh...0

Same problem for me0

Quicken's quality has been getting worse and worse, in addition to this snafu. It's stopped clearing transactions for many of my credit cards - I have to manually do so - as well, and often doesn't find/update transactions across accounts (checking to pay credit card, for example).0

Windows 10, R45.21, same issue. It will eventually finish if I let it sit for about 30 min, but all accounts fail.2

1/2/23 12:41pm Eastern time, same problem - started this morning; any solutions?1

Windows 10, R45.21 - Same issue. Worked fine yesterday .... today, not so much.1

:/ Me too0

I am having the same issue today, January 2, 2023.0

The problem seems to be with the non-direct connect institutions. The direct connect updates seem to have completed for me.

Quicken is also using an unusually large amount of CPU time on Windows 10.

Same here since yesterday so I decided to try one account at a time. After a few minutes I got a "CC-501" message that says that it was unable to update because of an error on the Quicken server. BUT also while I was waiting I scrolled down on this discussion screen and noticed that at the bottom there are discussion boards with darker font that say Quick Links & Categories. Note that one says, "Alerts, Online Banking & Known Product Issues". Open that section and you will find an announcement that they are aware the issue and are working on it and that you can 'flag' their discussion on the subject to be notified with updates. Good luck and please show patience, I only started having this issue yesterday and actually thought it was my error so I'm not knocking anyone else.1

Same issue here with Chase - other accounts are fine. It hangs on "Updating Account". It does conclude with an error CC-501, but only after a good 5 minutes. Says it's a Quicken server error. Something's broken!0

This is absolutely horrible!! I'm so upset about this! Looking for alternatives if this doesn't get fixed soon!! I've been having issues with this since I updated a few weeks ago. I think the banks doing different connections has really thrown a wrench!0

Unable to update investments.0

Happy New Year...updates are broken like everyone else. Patches, fixes, etc. seem to be a norm...I assume one will come out in the next day or two when people are back to work.
I started using Quicken in 1985...I think some of that code is still present in the software today! It is simply not a very polished application you have to admit...and I have to assume the back-end code that runs it is a hodge podge of pieced-together scraps over the years. At least the MAC version got a complete rewrite (or two).
I think the Company is just being passed around at this point (investment firm to investment firm) until it becomes totally obsolete and all the money is sucked out of it. Intuit made that clear when it offloaded it and now we are two "owners" down the road...and doesn't seem to be any long-term vision.
I guess we will all end up on Mint at some point...0 -
The Q\Win codebase is horrific and absolutely is from the 90's... still using keystroke shortcuts to drive windows, ancient technologies (one .NET 2.2 bug wasn't fixed until about 8 years ago, at which point it had been in the app for close to 10 years). Intuit has invested $0 in that code (other than useless UI items), unfortunately. That's what happens when you have no competition. First real money backed company that provides a personal finance desktop will usurp the user base in less than a year. If MSFT returned Money, they'd get the market in an instant.1

Same here, CC-501 error after about 10 minutes of hung updating.0

FYI, our fearless Quicken support team is working on this. Please see Ticket #9928609. I'm guessing there's a server down somewhere. Just a guess0

Hmm, maybe some progress on this? My download just finished after maybe 20 minutes. Gave me an error for all non-direct accounts but seems to have downloaded anyway... Oh boy...0

Add one more user with the same issue --
R45.21 Premier, Windows 11
One step works.... takes 10+ minutes (I do other stuff) and then there are errors on about half of my accounts.
All credit card accounts, CC-501 Error on the Quicken Server.
All bank accounts, same: CC-501 Error on the Quicken Server
All investment accounts, no issue (TD Ameritrade)0 -
The same issue today with me.0

Same USO issue with US Bank. Had to use Task Manager to close window.0
