"Quicken unexpectedly quit the last time it was run" when trying to do one-step-update

I cannot download any transactions because of this error message that appears when I click on either one-step-update or update settings. With both, the program crashes and disappears when this happens. I have validated file and cleared my cache and cookies.
While writing this I tried something else by just clicking one individual account rather than "All Accounts". With that I was able to update that account without an error. So I tried another account and that worked as well. Hoping that it was fixed I again tried "All Accounts" and I got the same error message and crash. Please help.

Did you send in that crash report so that Quicken personnel may look at it?
If not, please do, but only once.

Yes, I sent in a couple of crash reports yesterday through the programrkr. I will do it again now.

I have been dealing with this for a couple of weeks now. I am still having to use the workaround that I described above. I was wondering if this has to do with the general One Step Update issues that others are having.

    Hi @rkraus7

When you use your "workaround" - are you then able to download successfully from ALL of your accounts, or just some?  If just some, can you tell us the financial institution name(s) of the ones that still do not download?

    Thanks,

    Frankx

My workaround seemed to work on my Chase, Amex, and Fidelity Investments. I was just going to check on B of A because I think that was crashing but now I CANNOT OPEN QUICKEN. I get the blank splash screen and it shuts down with no error message. I rebooted and the same thing happens. What should I do now???

I spent all day yesterday working on my Quicken problem. I finally decided to attempt to uninstall Quicken using Windows and even that didn't work as I received a Quicken error message stating: Error 1325 - ScreenShare is not a valid short file name and the Uninstall attempt crashed. I was successful uninstalling with a third-part Uninstaller.
Upon reinstalling things went smoothly and the only noticeable issue was when attempting 'Update All' I was given the notice that Bank of America wanted me to authorize Quicken to access my BofA info. I OKd it and all of my 30+ accounts updated successfully. Problem solved.

I have the same problem with Quicken unexpectedly quitting when I try to run one-step update. I was on the phone for several hours with Quicken tech support over 2 days, with no success. I had to abandon the effort because I was leaving on a two-week vacation out of the country. With help from tech support, I set up a test file and verified the program was working correctly, but when I opened my data file in the same program it had the same problem. If I uninstall Quicken and reinstall, I assume this will replicate my experience with the test file. I have been a Quicken user for over 20 years and don't know where to turn. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I have had the same issue for the last few months with no resolution. Quicken quitting and showing 'Quicken unexpectedly quit the last time it was run.' when running one-step update or updating individual accounts. Also when I select 'edit-preferences-Quicken ID & Cloud Accounts.' I have submitted the error report many times but not received a response. I have tried with different Quicken installation on another laptop and same errors occur. Quicken is becoming useless if this error persists.
