After a scheduled update, I received an "Adjustment" warning prompt pop-up box from Quicken. The Quicken pop-up box had the yellow ! sign with "Adjustment". What was adjusted? And what causes it?

Can you show us an image snapshot of this error message, please?
What version and release of Quicken are you using?

R47.15 and the latest build.  I don't have a screen shot, but a small Quicken pop showed up on my desktop during the scheduled update time that said "Quicken" with the logo then the yellow yield sign with the exclamation point with the notation "Adjustment" and a box that said "Ok".  I couldn't get into Quicken because when I clicked to open it, a message came up that said "Cannot open Quicken because a scheduled update is running".  The only way to get into Quicken was to restart the computer. So, somehow the scheduled update jammed up the system.

An update. in addition to the Quicken "Adjustment" prompt after a scheduled quicken update another window popped up. "App can't be used!. Some required components missing. Please reinstall the application". Then there is a "Quit" button.  I simply disabled Quicken Scheduled Updates and all works and no more prompt pop-ups. It would be nice to use Scheduled Updates, but it looks like there are bugs in Quicken Scheduled Updates for Windows 10.
