Transaction Splits have been removed

I had some issues with my bank account web connect so I had to relink the accounts. In doing so quicken deleted all of the historical splits on my paychecks and loan payments. Is there a way to get them back?

    Thank you for reaching out to the Community about your issue, though I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing this.

    Do you have a recent backup you can restore? To start with, I suggest restoring a backup file to restore the missing data. Once restored, and before downloading transactions or relinking accounts, I also suggest turning off Cloud Sync.

    If needed, please, review this support article. Scroll down and open the blue dropdown section(s) titled Restore Quicken data and/or Restore an automatic backup for instructions on how to restore a backup.

    Once you've restored the backup, please follow the instructions provided below to turn off Cloud Sync.

    1. Navigate to Edit 
    2. Preferences
    3. Mobile & Web
    4. Turn Sync OFF.

    unfortunately it took a couple months to realize so I do not have a backup that would not require a lot of extra transaction entry. Why would this happen? How do I avoided it in the future. Are there any other options for getting the data back?
