Schwab randomly downloads old duplicate transactions

In the last few weeks, my Schwab accounts have started randomly downloading old transactions. It will be fine 90% of the time, but then one day some of my accounts will download a few transactions from several weeks ago. As I download and accept transactions nearly every day, there's no reason I should be getting old transactions in the download feed. As all these transactions are already in my register, I have to delete them one at a time from the download list. I can't see any logical pattern in when it decides to download these old duplicates nor any logic in how it choses which old transaction to include. It's seemingly random. Most days everything is fine and all my share and cash balances are correct. I am on the latest Windows version (47.15)

    Hello @mikeweberatl,

We are sorry about this problem with missing transaction downloads. Thank you for letting us know about this here on the Quicken Community.

Are you noticing this issue exclusively with a certain type of account, such as investments? Also, have you recently - within the last several weeks - deactivated and then reactivated any of your Charles Schwab accounts? Lastly, what do you see when you navigate to the ‘gear’ icon in the upper right-hand side of the Quicken window, then go to Register columns… and check the box next to Downloaded ID?

I look forward to your answers, and hope to provide additional assistance, going forward.

    Thank you,

    Quicken Jared

This is happening only with Schwab accounts and only with Brokerage/Retirement investment types. I think it's only happening with BUY and SELL transactions, but I will need to watch closer to confirm if that's true. Problem started in 2023 and it was quite a while after I finished getting all my Schwab accounts transferred to the new download process, so I don't feel like it's related to that. I don't remember having any other issues with Schwab or making any changes to those accounts around when this problem strated.

I have found the option to show the Downloaded ID - how do I use that informaiton? Should I look at that next time I have a problem? (Currently, all the problem transactions have been deleted.)

    Hello @mikeweberatl ,

Thanks so much for answering my questions about the situation from earlier.

Do any of the Downloaded ID column strings of data seem to match between the duplicated transactions; are the duplicated transactions also being repeated in this column? How we proceed may depend upon the answer to this question. You can review the Support Article here for more information.

I look forward to your answer.

    Thank you,

    Quicken Jared

I understand. The problem happens at random, so I will have to check this next time it occurs (all of the previous problem transactions are deleted.)
