Transactions reappear

For my Amex and Citi credit card accounts I download transactions, categorize them and accept them into my register. The next time I download, the same transactions reappear as if I had never touched them. This has been happening for a few months. Any thoughts?

    Hello @Armando21,

We are sorry about this issue with duplicated transactions. Thank you for asking about this here on the Quicken Community.

First, do you recall deactivating and reactivating the Citi and American Express accounts within the last several months (it's possible you may have done so recently with American Express account, but your post would indicate that the problems began prior to the recent migration)? Are you noticing this issue exclusively with a certain type of account, such as investments or corporate cards? Lastly, what do you see when you navigate to the ‘gear’ icon in the upper right-hand side of the Quicken window, then go to Register Columns… and check the box next to Downloaded ID?

I look forward to your responses, and I hope to provide further information after I know a little bit more about what is happening.

    Thank you,

    Quicken Jared

In recent months I have deactivated/reactivated as well as reset the accounts in an attempt to fix the problem. The issue is only happening with credit cards. The Download ID box was not checked. I checked it and hit Done, but nothing noticeable happened.

    Hello @Armando21 ,

We are sorry that this issue is remaining, but thank you for letting us know about your observations regarding the Download ID column.

Are any of these transactions being duplicated outside of, or in between, One Step Updates? Also, are any of these transactions Transfers, by chance? Deactivating and reactivating accounts can sometimes cause duplicate transactions, but if the problem is continuing over time, there may be another cause involved.

I look forward hearing more from you about what is happening.

    Thank you,

    Quicken Jared

Transactions are NOT duplicated. They reappear. For example, I One Step Update from the credit card company to Quicken, transactions from February 1 to February 25, I accept and categorize transactions. Three days later I update again, and the same transactions reappear (not duplicated) as if I had never accepted them before. It's like Groundhog Day.
