Why does the Quicken window continue to freeze

The Quicken screen will freeze and the mouse pointer jumps all over the screen. Other windows I have up at the same time do not have this problem. Hoping someone can offer a solution.

What version and release of Quicken are you using (R xx.xx from Help / About Quicken)?
What's the last transaction you performed?
How long has Quicken been running and how much activity have you performed since you last started Quicken?
When you bring up Windows Task Manager while this is happening and look at the Details tab …
what does Quicken show as values for User Objects and GDI Objects? (If these columns do not appear in the display, right-click in the title row to bring up the Select columns popup and add these columns)0 -
Version R45.18 Transaction today, entering a bill reminder. Restarted program 1 hour ago. User objects 7,041 GDI objects 6,9890

Is that the US or the Canadian version?
For the US version, please download and install the latest Mondo Patch file for release R 47.15 from https://www.quicken.com/support/update-and-mondo-patch-20182019-release-quicken-windows-subscription-product to ensure your Quicken software is up to date and correctly installed. This might help with the bug making the objects counts creep up to the limit of 10,000 each.0 -
It's a Canadian version.0

I didn't even know the Canadian version had the same bug … there's no fix available yet. Until there is, try to keep an eye on the User and GDI objects count and restart Quicken frequently. And call Quicken Support to make them more aware of the issue.
I wonder what's making your numbers creep up so much …

On the page from the link you gave there is a Canadian Manual Mondo Patch Update. I installed the patch and the User & GDI objects dropped to 603 and 278, so for now at least the program is again running smoothly. Hopefully it continues. Thanks for your help.0

Keep an eye on the objects counts after you have been working with Quicken for several hours. Does it still climb towards 10,000?

It did very quickly climb back up towards 10,000 and is acting very erratic again. Over the past couple of months I've sent pleas for help directly to Quicken support through the program explaining the problem but never get any type of response. Very disappointing.0

One thing I did just notice, the program froze completely so I had to end the task in task manager. When I restarted Quicken the numbers were back down to 1,100 and 673. The program runs normal once more.0

Hello @jwb123 ,
We are sorry about this problem with CPU usage and crashing. Thank you for continuing to work with us on this issue.
I want to make sure: where is your current active data file located? You can check this by navigating to File > Show "(the data file name will be displayed here)" in Finder in the upper menu at the top of the screen. Make sure that your data file is located on the computer and not an external drive or cloud-based storage service, as these locations can cause erratic behavior and even data damage.
I look forward to your response.
Thank you,
Quicken Jared
