Activity indicators? red flag and blue dot

I have a question, not sure what to call it. Typically, when I update my account, if there are transactions, I'll get the red flag icon in the left column. This was with most all my accounts (Fidelity and American Century). Then I started getting some accounts with the blue dot, and sometimes transactions just don't show at all. All my accounts are now Fidelity, no American Century, and I still have a few accounts that get the blue dot rather than the red flag that indicates activity. What's going on and how do I fix it to just the red flag? Also, is there a way to look back and see if I missed any of those transactions? Seems the ones with the blue dots disappear.
