financial institution connection need update

For the past several days I've received a message upon opening Quicken to update my financial institution connection. When I try to update this, my screen freezes up, and flickers. So I followed instructions on another post about this and again in deactivating my account, my screen freezes up and just flickers. The only way to stop it is to use the task manager and end the task. I am using the latest update and have backed up all accounts. Please advise.
