Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a Quicken "Starter" edition for Windows that only had the current checkbook register + download from bank functionality. Clearing out all of the huge number of features and graphs that many users may not have an interest in would be wonderful. Load time would possibly be shortened as well. As a programmer (Softech Systems) I have learned customers like simplicity.

    The software is the same for all versions of Quicken. It's your Quicken ID which determines which version.

    You might want to check out Quicken's web based product, appropriately called Simplifi.

    They tried your suggestion of having jsut such a product named Quicken Checkbook back in 2012 & 2014.

    They couldn't even give it away. Nobody wanted it.
