It would be useful to see the balance in a register with some transactions omitted (via a check box associated with each line item). This would allow the total for cleared transactions to be compared with balances (credit card, checking, etc.) displayed on-line.

You can use the filter dropdown near the upper right of the register to view All Transactions, Uncategorized, Unreconciled, Cleared, Uncleared, or Flagged transactions. The balance column (usually the furthest right column in the register) shows the running balance of just those transactions displayed.

If none of the filters work to select the transactions you want, you can simulate your desired check boxes by using select and de-select in banking registers.

    1. Select the bottom transaction in your register.
    2. Scroll to the top of the register. (Hint: you can right-click the scroll bar and choose Top.)
    3. Shift-select the first transaction.
    4. Now all your transactions should be selected and you can Ctrl-select (de-select) the ones you want to exclude. The sum total of the selected transactions appears at the bottom.
