Customers/Invoicing feature for Business/Personal Classic for Mac

I had purchased a subscription to the Business & Personal Class for Mac for Quicken thinking that there is a feature that I would be able to add customers for the business side to be able to do invoicing. It just helps keep track a bit better instead of recording each transaction per customer on a different spreadsheet.

Invoicing is already a planned feature for Quicken Mac. We don't know when it will arrive.

    Hello All,

The status of this Idea has been changed to Planned as it has been accepted by our Product and Development team for future implementation. Quicken's product development teams do not provide an estimate of when new/enhanced features will be completed and released.

    Thank you

As a long time user of first QuickInvoice, then Quicken Home and Business, then Quicken Home, Business and Rental, and now Quicken Classic Business and Personal, and as a Mac user, I have been frustrated for years that those apps have only been available for the Windows platform. I have had to buy Windows PCs or more recently run Parallels for Mac only to run Quicken. Now, I am excited to see that you have Quicken Classic Business and Personal for Mac but with no invoicing capability. That doesn't make sense to me. A business app with no invoicing? I urge you to add invoicing and invoice payment functionality to Quicken Classic Business and Personal for Mac ASAP and please notify me when you do.

Is there any estimate on when this invoicing feature will be available for the Mac version? I want to move from quickbooks to quicken but need the invoicing!

I need invoicing too. Any ETA for the feature?

I am surprised that I did not find an invoicing feature request for Mac listed in the list of Mac enhancements. Does no one else need invoicing on the Mac version?

I do not need inventory tracking, but invoicing would be very helpful as I am a consulting based business and need to write simple invoices. For now, I'm stuck using ExpressInvoice to hold me over since I've live the windows version. Anyone else need invoicing? Upvote if so.

Just called to upgrade from Premier on MacOS to Business and Personal (specifically for the added features). Disappointed that invoicing NOT available yet?! Neither are any Rental features? Agent tried to sell me Windows version, transfer over my data, etc. YIKES! Seems to me that there's a sweet spot for these features that would give many a reason to "upgrade"—yet without them?

I have not upgraded to the Personal and Business version of Mac because it does not have the invoicing feature. I'm disappointed it is still not available.

Welcome to the club of disappointment. I have been using Quicken since the late 1990's and Quicken Home & Business for Windows since it released. I have been waiting for a Mac version of Home & Business since 2010, and am still waiting for a version with invoicing—since that's basic to businesses. I'm unsure what the technical hurdles are, but it's way past overdue. The thing that surprises me most is that another software developer hasn't shown up to compete and take over.

I am in the same boat as you Duanesworld, long time Quicken user for personal and have to fork over $38/mo for QuickBooks just to have this business invoicing feature for my self-employed needs. It's such a basic need for small business, why is it STILL not a part of this application package???

Just adding my voice to this; having the ability to create invoices is a key feature I want from Quicken for Mac with my subscription. I'm a one-person business so Quicbooks is way too expensive and has too many features I don't need. So I'm hoping the development team will come through on this one, thanks guys!

Here is another vote, a real need for Invoicing on the Mac version. I'm switching over from running Windows on Parallels, have had nothing but problems with data file corruption and sick of chasing my tail on it. I do create invoices outside of Quicken but would at least like for it to provide the same functionality.

Glad to see though that Schedule E has been added to help fill the Rental gap.

Well Intuit you've done it again. Called a program "Business" with no invoices. What world do you people live in? How does a person run a business that cannot send invoices. You just took my $139 and left me with a new screen and no more functionality. This is one of the worst forms of advertising fraud I've seen. You should be ashamed, but of course you're not, you're INTUIT. Very Very Very dissatisfied customer.

Very unhappy with this as well… I just upgraded to Personal and Business, and did not realize Invoicing was not available in Mac! This was a key feature for me, so may downgrade back. I see this has been "planned" for many months.

Thanks! I'm very happy to see Invoicing implemented…. after creating a test invoice, I have a couple questions:

    • I'm not seeing any way to have MY address on the invoice (to make a check out to and send by mail). I suspect I must just not be seeing how to do this?
    • Is there any way to customize the appearance of the invoice. Eg., the business name is in a small font and would like that to be more prominent. Also, would like to be able to add my logo.

Glad to see this is moving forward!

Never mind! Found it all under the edit business tab— really great- thanks!

    Invoicing - product suggestion:

It would be great if when setting up an invoice, for my business name to be different from the actual name set up in Quicken.

An example would be if wanting to reflect a DBA name on the invoice or if the full business name is longer than what is set up in Quicken.

    Thanks.

When a customer pays an invoice, it posts to the register as "client payment" rather than to the categories assigned in the invoice, therefore not showing up in the budget. The AI Assistant instructions were to edit the "client payment" to the show the proper categories, but doing that brings up a message that it will break the link to the invoice payment and make the payment a customer credit. There seems to be no way to reflect income from a customer payment on the budget.

  • TPCaldwell

My final workaround to solve this was not to edit "client payment" but to use splits to add an "accounting adjustment" to negate that income, then, referring to the invoice, putting in the proper categories to add the money back in. Quicken should fix this in its next update to avoid those extra steps.
