Another question on here regarding contacts prompted me to wonder how many of you use Quicken to actually print paper checks. At one time years ago (mid-late 1980's) I did print a few paper checks but probably haven't printed any in over 35 years and threw my supply away. I think it was likely an ego thing to see my personal checks printed like a business. We did use some paper checks with Quickbooks for my wife's business for a number of years. My credit union - now located two states away from me, that I have used for many years has a totally free online bill-pay system that works very well and I would guess maybe I write only about dozen manual checks a year, mostly when I hire a local contractor and pay them as soon as the job is complete. The bill-pay is very fast delivery unless for some unknown reason the EFT can't be done in which instance they mail a check at no cost to me. My beautiful hand-crafted leather checkbook is buried in my desk drawer.
