This may be an issue only in the drill down dashboard for spending or Income functionality. Two questions.
Question 1:
My example is this: I have entries that I categorize as Auto:fuel. I generally don't post anything in the Tag field, but do post what vehicle the fuel was used in. In some cases, I purchase DEF fluid for a diesel truck at Walmart or other location and categorize it as Auto:fuel, enter the memo as DEF. When I use the drill down functionality from the Dashboard to look at spending, I select through the categories to Auto, Auto:fuel and can see the entries for this information. However, the entries where I purchased DEF (or other auto:fuel items) just show as —Split— in the Category and Tag field and the Memo field is blank and Payment field is for the full amount not the split entry (probably since it is blank in the actual entry for the entire transaction entry, but would be incorrect since it is captured int the split entry).
Question 2:
Once you get your drill down to the information category that you want. I can multi select a group of entries in the drill down and it will give me the number of entries I selected (like excel). I wish it would also give me the amount of those entries (like excel) when you do this type of multi selection.
So, is this a design flaw, possible room for enhancement or is there a way to make these entries show up with the correct information in the drill down? See attached .pdf example.
Thank you
