Quicken software bug when entering transactions

I am using Quicken XG 2005 but I'm sure this bug exists in other versions of quicken.  Basically, Quicken will not allow me to enter my transactions.  Try entering this sequence of transactions:13/01/2006   ShtSell  1000 @ US9.5817/01/2006   CvrShrt  1000 @ US9.3618/01/2006   ShtSell   200 @ US9.3818/01/2006   ShtSell   200 @ US9.9319/01/2006   ShtSell    30 @ US9.8819/01/2006   ShtSell   170 @ US9.8820/01/2006   CvrSell   200 @ US9.4020/01/2006   CvrSell   400 @ US9.4023/01/2006   Bought    399 @ US9.3723/01/2006   Bought   1601 @ US9.37****  23/01/2006   Sell   1000 @ US9.37Quicken does not allow me to enter the last entry.  When I try entering the last entry a dialog pops up:&quot_Recording a short transaction.&quot_  And the transaction is automatically converted to a ShtSell - which is wrong.Anyone have any ideas?  Any workarounds?  Will quicken take the time to fix this bug?  Based on reading this forum it doesn't look like it's easy to get quicken to fix anything. Thanks, Scott

I entered those transactions (assuming you meant CvrShrt where you wrote CvrSell), and it worked fine for me.
Quicken user since version 2 for DOS, now using QWin Premier Subscription on Win7 Pro & Win10 Pro.

Thanks for attempting to reproduce the problem.  Unfortunately, I've tried multiple times.  I've created a new investment account and it has the same problems.  Hopefully someone else with Quicken XG 2005 can confirm the problem.  I've sent the problem to quicken with no reply as of yet.

I got a response from Quicken and they were able to reproduce the problem after I sent them a simple data file with the problem in it.  They acknowledged something is wrong in the quicken software.  Hopefully they will provide a fix in the near future.
