Trying to construct a 2013 budget

Having problems understanding 2013 Quicken as my previous update was 2010. I want to add annual budget (not monthly) figures but the annual column at the end won't let me edit the amounts. Please advise.

I do an annual budget on annual amounts only. Can't figure out in Quicken 2013 how to just add the annual amounts. It will only let me modify category months in a monthly setting.

Don't think you can enter an annual amount. What you can do is enter your annual amount in January and leave the other months as zero. Then, if you want you can do the rollover so that whatever is left when you complete a month is carried over to the next month. Many people like the rollover feature, even with monthly budgets. That's up to you though, you don't have to do the rollover.

I miss the ability to enter annual budget amounts, too. I finally resorted to dividing my annual amounts by 12 and entering the monthly amount. Enter the amount in January, then click on the gear symbol and you can automatically populate the monthly amount to each month in the year.

I thought about the rollover feature, but once I figured out the above, I thought it best to leave rollover turned off.
