Budget Number will Not Stay

I currently have a budget set up with numbers from a previous Quicken version and recently upgraded to Quicken 2013. The budget converted correctly; however, I am trying to update my monthly budget amounts in the annual view from the old budget numbers to the new amount and when I change the amount it stays until I close the program. When I re-open Quicken 2013, and go back to the annual view of the budget, it has replaced the changed monthly amount to 0. Therefore, I can't get the new budget monthly amounts to stay.

I'm under (top left corner) Budget, Annual View, 2013, Budget Only (for the view).

I had the same problem when I upgraded to 2013. I saw something in the community about validating the file. I did that and it solved this problem. To validate, click on File, File Operations.

The 2013 budget functionality has been a rough ride -- big changes, and very confusing. And budget reports took a lot of trial and error to get them working right. Just FYI.

Also important is to make sure that you have all available bug fixes installed properly.
In Quicken, click Help in the Menu bar, then click About Quicken. If the response is not "2013 ... Release R10" (or a higher number), see this article: http://knowledgebase.quicken.com/support/help/GEN85043

And still no response from Intuit?

THE BUDGET FEATURE IN 2013 IS COMPLETELY BROKEN. WHEN WILL YOU RESPOND TO YOUR CUSTOMERS?

I spent 20 minutes finessing the numbers in the budget for May (the last month for which I have actuals). It balances out, and is what I want to use.

I click forward to June - all the numbers are off.

I click back to May - now all the carryover amounts have been recalculated (after I painstakingly went through each rollover category and reset the rollover amount to $0).

I reset all the carryover amounts to $0.

    Again.

Then I click back and forth between May and June to copy the numbers from May to June - BY HAND, because Quicken for some reason decided to change them.

    And when I'm done?

THEY DON'T EVEN MATCH! After putting the same budget amounts in the same categories, the budgets are $47 off from one another.

This is a complete joke. It looks like a Windows 3.1 product, and their grand 'update' has only broken things. It's god-awful to use, and it's a sign of just how bad Quicken and Intuit are that I wish Microsoft Money were still around.

So, to my fellow sufferers - anyone find an actual solution? Anyone hear from a human being at Intuit with new ideas?

BTW, I'm on the latest build, and tried verifying the file - and for bonus points, Quicken CRASHED IN THE MIDDLE OF VALIDATING MY FILE! How fun is that?
