It might appear to work. . . for a little bit. The permissions between user accounts will get all mangled.
you can share it through a dropbox account. make sure you are not using the file at the same time. dropbox does do backup type revisions so that may help with screw ups.

While I use DropBox, I do not suggest this as a workable method for sharing as the underlying sharing problems will still manifest themselves down the road. Some people have no issues, other people do. It all comes back to sharing packages within MacOS.
However, if you compress the file before moving it to DB, then you shouldn't have any issues using it between both user accounts.
Random idea: You could create a new account on the computer purely for running Quicken. Then you could each log-in to that account when you want to use Quicken.
