show sum of shares on capital gains report

Every year when preparing taxes the little things that bug me about Quicken come to the forefront. Here is one that has bugged me for a while that there must be a good workaround for. When I run a capital gains report, the report does not sum up the shares. I get totals for gross proceeds and cost basis and realized gain, but not the total shares sold. This is required when submitting income taxes. Is there a workaround out there other than my current one, which is pull out the calculator?

More broadly, I would be much happier with Quicken ( and more likely to upgrade more frequently) if they improved usability of current features versus adding new ones. Ugh :(

Your 1099 will show that won't it?  Also, if you double click on one of the transactions showing the shares in a lot it will take you to the register which will show how any shares were sold on that particular day.

I want the total for any date range I choose.  Quicken does not provide that. I wish Quicken provided better reporting tools

Export the report to Excel and add a formula to do the summation.
