This could either be your file password or your Intuit ID--your Intuit ID is required to update your accounts in Quicken:
If you have Quicken set to download transactions as soon as its opened, this could be the reason you're seeing the prompt to log in when you open the file. You can update this in Edit-->Preferences-->Startup.
If this isn't what's happening, please reply with more details of what exactly you're seeing (you can also attach a screenshot of the sign on screen to your reply).
