OL-290 error during bill pay?
Latest Quicken 7 for MAC 4 days ago started to give me an OL-290 error when trying to pay bills thru 5th 3rd Bank. Called bank to no avail. Have seen issue pop up and get resolved by Quicken a few months ago via my search but it's back. Any thoughts?

Good afternoon,
Sorry to hear about your issues. As per the info in the link provided by qknmac I would suggest contacting your bank to see if it's a know issue and if it is resolvable. Due to the outdated nature of QM2007 some banks are ceasing to support its connections: http://knowledgebase.quicken.com/support/help/citi-cards-ol-290-in-quicken-mac-2007/SLN72781.html
If this is Quicken Online Bill Pay that you are using you can also try reaching out to our Online Bill Pay Support. You can find all the contact methods in the following article and use the the one most convenient to you: http://knowledgebase.quicken.com/support/help/contact-quicken-bill-pay/GEN83210.html. I would suggest trying ot bank first
Best of luck
Colin
Has 5/3 indicated whether it's continuing to support Web Connect for Q2007/Mac? By this, I mean downloads of transactions directly to Quicken (but not bill payment). I'm not a 5/3 customer, so I can't find this out myself.
Looking at the FI list in Q2007/Mac, I see an entry for "Fifth Third Bank - NEW". That makes me think that Web Connect may still be available.
Let me know.
To test this, you will have to deactivate and reactivate Q2007/Mac's online connection to 5/3. There is no guarantee of success, but it's becoming pretty clear that 5/3 is not going to continue to support online bill payment in Q2007/Mac, despite their misleading website (https://www.53.com/help/quicken-2006-2007-mac.html).
So, are you willing?

Background info that another user (macuser_22) supplied:
"It is probably due to the POODLE vulnerability that was discovered and published 5 days ago by Google (https://www.us-cert.gov/ncas/alerts/TA14-290A)
US-CERT (Department of Homeland Security) says: "There is currently no fix for the vulnerability SSL 3.0 itself, as the issue is fundamental to the protocol; however, disabling SSL 3.0 support in system/application configurations is the most viable solution currently available."
Thus the recommendation is to turn SSL 3.0 off in servers, which is what banks (and apparently Intuit) have done.
Since QM2007 can only use SSL 3.0 (the code was written before TSL existed), QM2007 cannot connect to any server that has SSL 3.0 disabled."
