Quicken year, version and release? Operating system?

another interesting observation...the difference between the total open lots shown and the detail open lots shown is 300 shares.  When I expose the closed lots, there is a sale in October of 300 shares that seemed odd in it was not showing the quote/price ( see attached).  So I deleted that sale and it is still showing.

    Try exiting Quicken, then restarting.

If shares still there, try Validating a Quicken Copy of your data.
File > File Operations > Copy
File > File Operations > Validate and Repair (the Copy from previous step)

If the Validated Copy shows correct share balance, make the Validate Copy your regular file.

Thanks - I am trying that. What do you think about the recalculate investment register on the specific account - http://knowledgebase.quicken.com/support/help/investing/recalculate-the-investment-register/GEN82146.html?scid=qkn_cntctus_gen82146.  Is that risky?

Recalculate shouldn't hurt, though I would make sure I had a backup anyway.

When I do this recalculation, it is just doing it for the account I am in, correct? I want to limit my exposure.  Really appreciate your help

Recalculate register (CTRL+z) only applies to the account where you initiate the recalculate.

Thanks.  The validate and repair has fixed my specific problem.  It found the specific sale transactions, noted the issue, and deleted them. So that is goodness. I am a bit hesitant, however,  to use the new file as it made whole bunch of other changes that make me nervous.
