Launch of Beta Testing

I’m excited to announce that we’ve started the beta testing phase. A small group of people were sent invites last night and can now begin the first phase of testing the new Quicken Mac product. Next week we’ll release the software to all of our beta testers. It’s still early. The software is a little rough but this marks a huge milestone for our development team who have been working really hard on this product for quite some time. We’re all very excited that we’ve reached this point.
Beta Testing PlanIn these early stages we’re mostly getting people’s first impressions of the product and seeing if there are any usability tweaks we need to make. We’re still adding major functionality so the product is a work in progress but the framework is in place and I think people will be able to get a sense of the direction we’re heading. The plan is to update the beta often as functionality gets added and features get closer to being “done” so they can be vetted by customers.
Again, thanks to all of our Quicken Mac customers for sticking with us. A new version is coming.
P.S. Beta testers, as a reminder please refrain from providing product details of the new Quicken Mac in the replies and comments below even if I mention something in the post. Thanks.

    Hi Marcus,
I'm a Quicken for Windows user, but I'm wondering if we should have a new "Tag" in this Community for the new Mac version you're working on. I'm thinking that if a new tag were consistent with our existing tags, it would be "QM2015" - does that sound right?

In anticipation of the beta testing, for the first time I have decided to look at QEM on which QM2015 is based one..

I understand that Classes have been replaced with Tags. iIN QM2007 you can have SUB classes but I do not see the ability to have SUB tags. Please ADD Sub Tags. This is because sub-classes are often used to group certain classes together that do not apply to other transaction categories, e.g. rental properties with different rental units Like 353 Main St Unit 201-> 353 Main:201. You cannot do this with Tags. Having sub tags will make sure that it is possible to group related tags that are not applicable for other transactions.

    Consider the contrast:
QM2007 Classes 353Main:201 and 155 Fifth Ave:301. Using subclasses I would never make the mistake of entering 301 as a class for 353 Main or entering 201 as a class for 155 Fifth Ave.

QM2015 Tags would be 353 Main, 201, 155 Fifth Ave, 301. WIth the current set up I could accidentally enter tags 353 Main and 301 and my reports would be wrong.

So having sub tags helps simplify and control data entry errors AND helps group related tags for easier reporting. So Please add SUB tags!  This will also make it possible to get columnar reports that show categories and sub categories vs classes and sub classes.
