Why do reports appear to be inconsistent between platforms?

My goal is to be able to view my total net income for each month. When I look at the Cash Flow report by month this gives one set of numbers, with total income, total spending and then the difference (net income/savings). However when I open the Quicken App for Android on my tablet it has 3 "pre-loaded" charts (Spending by Category for the current month, Spending Over Time on a monthly basis, Net Income Over Time on a monthly basis) and the numbers don't match. My Net Income on the app is consistently less than the number from the Cash Flow Report on my desktop by a few thousand dollars each month. Which of these reports is "correct" and why are they different?

As a side note, it would be really nice if the Net Income chart from the app were available in the desktop software. You can graph the expenses and income side by side in a bar chart so why not an option for just the net income which can be hard to decipher in the current bar chart.

Do you have any accounts beyond Cash, Credit, Savings, and Credit Card?  Those are the only account types that the Mobile app handles.

I have investment accounts but other than the occasional dividend there isn't income there. I'm still in the contributing money phase of my life. It looks like it might have to do with my company 401k match. That's part of my paycheck that gets deposited into my checking account so I assumed that income would be in the app. But since the money goes directly from the paycheck into an investment account then maybe it isn't. My 401k contribution also goes directly into the investment account but it does show up in the app but my employer match doesn't. Strange but that looks to be the answer which explains why it is different every single month.

    " ... but my employer match doesn't".

Your employer match never gets deposited in any account except your 401k account.

    So, not "strange" at all.
