Bill Pay (QMac2016) quirk with Bank of America autopay

My two BofA credit cards are set up internally on BofA website to pay the full balance automatically each month on the due date.  BofA posts the advance dated transaction at the same time as the bill is generated.  When I upgraded to QMac2016 today, the transaction was downloaded to my pay from account in Quicken as a "Sent" online bill pay transaction, uncategorized.  I changed it to "Transfer-Credit Card Payment," but it blocks me from entering a Transfer Account.  So, I expect to see two downloads after the pay date -- one in the pay from account, and a matching one in the pay to account -- same as always, for inside or outside BofA accounts.  Slightly annoying quirk, because I prefer to see the matching amount before posting, same as outside accounts when I enter transactions manually.  I may choose to block bill pay and not use Quicken.  I gave up on bill pay when I switched to QMac years ago.  All of my non-BofA cards/accounts generate and ACH to BofA instead.  I've found that more reliable than either BofA or Quicken.

I agree.  I also use Bank of America.  In my case, I use the bank's bill payment services to schedule bill payments, and sometimes I schedule account transfers.  While I recently tested Quicken for Mac 2016, I find that the Bill Pay functionality is still in it's infancy.   I have needed to revert back to Quicken for Mac 2015, which excludes Bill Pay functionality.  For me the status of "Sent" is useless.  I also use a similar category, not to leave out, the use of Account Transfers within Quicken.  I've been a long term user of Quicken for nearly 20-years and I'm very disappointed with these upgrades and releases.  You would have to wonder where Quality Testing before product release has gone.

Addendum 4 months later -- Of course, as soon as I wrote the last sentence above that an ACH from the credit card FI is "...more reliable...", I experienced a screw-up.  Macy's failed to act on payment instructions, even though I got a confirmed number when I set it up in their own internal bill pay site.  I phoned when I received the next bill showing a late charge, interest, and no payment recorded.  They found the problem while I was online, accepted blame, processed the payment, and reversed the interest and late fee.  Annoyingly, the next cycle added interest and late fee again, because the artificial non-intelligence billing system calls 'em as it sees 'em.  I had to phone again and asked the helpful phone person to relay my frustration and complaint.  But, what can I say?  It's Macy's.  We all know their card Quicken interface is screwed up (see other topics in the forum).  Clearly they have other problems as well.  I answered a robo-questionnaire after the 2nd phone call, unloaded with the whole story, including Quicken interface problems, and got a VP apology later. At least they read my comments.
