Register Report Default Date Range

I have the default date range in Preferences, Reports and Graphs, set to Year to Date, which seems to work for most reports.

However, whenever I bring up a Register Report, it always includes all dates, is there a way to set a default date for this report?

    Do you know of a good reason why the default would not be applied to the Register Report?

    Although it's easy enough to change the date range in the report afterwards, it takes much longer to retrieve a report which Includes All Dates, when the account has a large number of transactions.

    No I don't know any good reason, I suggest you send feedback to Intuit on it or contact Intuit support to report it:
